The main differences between the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox and the Blazer include pricing, performance capabilities, and interior features. The Equinox not only costs less than the Blazer, but it offers more efficient performance and a host of technological features. To discover all that these Chevys have to offer, keep reading.
The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox comes standard with a perfected powertrain option that pairs with your choice of FWD or AWD. To top it off, the SUV comes with Automatic Stop/Start technology, driver shift controls, and StabiliTrak. While the Blazer offers a total of three engine options, its fuel economy lacks in comparison to the Equinox.
The Equinox and Blazer offer similar interior designs and technology features. The SUVs’ cabins are crafted with similar materials including cloth and leather upholstery, hard plastic and leather trim, and chrome accents. Both cabins are designed to offer plenty of space for up to five passengers plus any cargo. At the center of the cockpit, you’ll find a Chevrolet Infotainment 3 System with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, hands-free Bluetooth capabilities, and available built-in navigation. Both vehicles are also equipped with Amazon Alexa compatibility and a WiFi Hotspot.
Both the 2021 Equinox and the Blazer received 5-star safety ratings from the NHTSA. However, the Equinox was the only SUV out of the two to be named as a Top Safety Pick by the IIHS. The Equinox offers several safety features including Automatic Emergency Braking, Automatic Parking Assist, Following Distance Indicator, Forward Collision Alert, Front Pedestrian Braking, Front and Rear Park Assist, HD Rear Vision Camera & HD Surround Vision, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Teen Driver, and more. The Blazer didn’t make the IIHS list for Top Safety Picks because the exterior lights lacked intensity. However, like the Equinox, it does offer Chevrolet’s standard safety features.
“Raise your standards – Included on all 2021 Equinox models is standard Chevy Safety Assist. It’s a bundle of six advanced safety technologies that can help you lookout for potential hazards and may even prevent them from happening.”
Both SUVs are designed similarly in that they feature a bold frame with sporty features. The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox is sculpted with wave-like lines and fluid indentions that create a sense of motion. The Blazer features geometric contours and sharp lines. When it comes to SUV features, both vehicles come with modern LED lights with sleek designs, chrome accents, panoramic sunroofs, and specially-designed grilles. While the Equinox comes in eight vibrant colors and six wheel designs and sizes, the Blazer comes in 11 colors and offers 10 different wheel designs.
“Every time you set out, you stand out. Sculpted contours and accents like LED daytime running lamps give you a distinctive look whether you’re cruising uptown or downtown. But this compact SUV is more than just a pretty face.”
