The small SUV is equipped with a 1.5L turbo 4-cylinder engine with automatic start/stop technology. This engine is capable of outputting up to 170 horsepower, 203 lb-ft of torque, and pairs with a standard 6-speed automatic transmission plus FWD capabilities. While this powertrain is the only one available, you can upgrade to Chevy’s AWD capabilities for more precise handling and control. If you want more than the standard features, choose between four trim levels, including the all-new RS trim. In terms of handling, the Equinox delivers an easy ride with direct, accurate steering and up to 1,500 lbs. With this crossover, you can spend less time at the gas station and more time doing what you love. It offers up to 26 city mpg and 31 mpg on the highway. If you do go for the AWD configuration, you will only lose 1 mpg off of both ratings.
