2023 CHEVY SILVERADO VS COLORADO

The reputation of Chevy trucks is as solid as it could be. These are extremely popular vehicles because of the blend of performance and value that they deliver. Once you’ve decided you’d like to add a Chevy pickup to your driveway, the next choice is which one it will be. Both the Silverado and the smaller Colorado offer a lot to love, but they have slightly different features and benefits to consider.

We’ll dive into a comparison of these outstanding trucks below. If you’d like to compare them in person to see how they stack up side-by-side, simply stop by Five Star Chevrolet and our team will be happy to make that happen. We look forward to helping you find the perfect new truck!

Start with Sizing

The obvious difference between these two trucks is their sizing, so that’s the best place to start when it comes to picking out the one you’ll want to add to your driveway. Everything about the Silverado is bigger than what you will find in the Colorado. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s better, of course, but it is the most important deciding factor between these two. There is more than a foot of additional truck length with the Silverado compared to the Colorado, and quite a bit more room in the cabin for passengers and cargo. So, if you need what a full-size truck provides in terms of versatility and capability, you don’t need to read any further – the Silverado will be right for you.

But let’s pause here for a moment to talk about the advantages of a smaller truck. In some applications, the smaller size of the Colorado is more desirable, such as when driving on city streets or when trying to park in a crowded lot. Also, a smaller form factor means you won’t spend as much money at the pump to keep your truck running, so that’s a nice benefit, as well. And don’t make the mistake of thinking that the Colorado is a tiny little truck – it’s smaller than the Silverado, yes, but there is still quite a bit of room inside and you have space in the bed for hauling.

Is the Silverado More Expensive Than the Colorado?

In a word, yes – the Silverado is significantly more expensive than the Colorado, and for good reason. It’s a bigger, more capable truck, so you will need to spend more to bring it home. Of course, both trucks offer great value for the money, and you can’t really go wrong either way when choosing which one you are going to invest in. The difference in cost between the two is often as much as $10,000 or more, but that’s going to vary quite a bit based on the trim package as well as the deal you can locate when ready to make a purchase.

Favor the Silverado When In Doubt

Make no mistake – the Colorado is a great truck, and if you are sure it’s the right fit for your needs, by all means, reach out to Five Star Chevrolet and we’ll work together to find the perfect one for you. With that said, if you are doubting which one is right for you, it’s almost certainly better to go with the larger Silverado.

Here’s why that makes sense – you can’t make the Colorado any bigger after you buy it. So, if you aren’t sure that it’s big enough now, you might come to regret going with the smaller truck later on as your needs evolve. Instead of finding yourself stuck with a truck that isn’t quite big enough to do everything you need, you’ll have played it safe and purchased a truck that you can grow into over time. And, even if it’s a little bigger than what you require, that’s a better outcome than needing to sell your Colorado and spend more money to upgrade after only a short time has passed.

The 2023 versions of the Silverado and Colorado are each excellent trucks in their own right, but you probably aren’t going to buy them both. Come pay us a visit to figure out which one is the right fit for your plans. Thank you for taking the time to consider Five Star Chevrolet. We are excited to serve you!
